SARA KAY – Casting Director, Co –Owner of Lewis Kay Casting
Sara Kay is the co-owner of Lewis Kay Casting in Toronto, which was established just over eleven years ago with business partner Jenny Lewis. She has been a Casting Director for nearly fourteen years and has cast several television series in addition to many feature films. Some of the prominent directors that she has worked with over the years include George Romero, Adam Arkin, Gavin Hood, Scott Smith, Gordon Pinsent, Jonathan Krisel, Brad Peyton and Ed Gass-Donnelly. Some of the projects that Lewis Kay Casting have cast are: Man Seeking Woman, Breakout Kings, Defendor, Little Mosque On The Prairie , Skins, Republic of Doyle, Best Laid Plans, Seed and Bitten . Nine years ago they won the inaugural Gemini for the movie of the week Heyday produced for CBC and written and directed by Gordon Pinsent. Two years ago, they won the Canadian Screen award for their casting on the television series Todd and the Book of Pure Evil.
Sara’s most recent credits include the Canadian features “I Put A Hit On You” and “Guidance” as well as working on the last season of the hit show “Republic of Doyle”.
Sara’s history in the business started years ago at Concordia University. Sara studied Drama in Education and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Shortly thereafter, she began working at Powerhouse Casting and then on to RDC Casting where she worked for Robin Cook as her associate. Sara learned the ins and outs of the American film industry as she worked on over 20 American feature films at RDC Casting. She is happy to be a part of the wonderful Lewis Kay Casting team!
