You all remember how last time I was talking about our “Acting: Inside Out” course, and how you should all apply? Speaking of which, did you apply? No? Ok, you go do that, I’ll wait.
Alright, welcome back. So anyway, last time I mentioned the class, but I also promised to tell you more about Imagisti, because frankly if you’re going to come train with us (and I hope you will), you should know a bit about who we are.
Imagisti Creative Studio was founded by Babak Payami, who you will all remember from last week. He spent years working in Iran and all over Europe and he truly believes in fostering young talent and helping them hone their craft.
While working in Italy, at the United Colours of Benneton studio Fabrica, he helped create their film and audiovisual department. Now you may be surprised to learn, as I was, that Benneton is not just a clothing store specializing in bright t-shirts. It’s actually a huge consortium that has their fingers in many pies, so to speak. Their founder Luciano Benneton opened Fabrica in the 90’s as a communication arts research centre, housing it in a 19th century vineyard renovated and remodelled under the supervision of Japanese architect Tadao Ando. Their mandate is to provide promising artists under 25 with scholarships to come there and develop their craft. Babak went and mentored there for a while, and its that combined with his other teaching experiences that led him to create Imagisti.
So what is it we do here? Well, I write the blog. Obviously. But in general, we are a film production company with 3 other components:
Training: We offer classes, like the Acting: Inside Out, that help young artists hone their craft?
Artist Branding: This is a service we are particularly excited about, as we don’t just photograph an actor or musician, but we also help them create their identity and social media presence.
Marketing: We are also in part a boutique marketing studio, involved in design and information technology.
All of this, really, is an offshoot of Babak’s film production company “Payam Films”, which is facilitating and financing all the other pursuits.
Now that you know a bit more about who we are, I hope you’ll keep coming back to check us out. Tell a friend! Tell 10! From here on out, this won’t just be strictly studio related, I’ll start to cover other arts-related topics. Follow my blog and discover you’ll discover Imagisti with me.
Until next time, stay creative friends!
Arezou
