Hey pals. This is Sina, I’m an actor from Toronto, currently interning at the Imagisti Creative Studio. Here, I’ve learned how important headshots are and what it really means to have a great headshot as an actor. It’s almost like having a nice boxing gear to enter an important fight.
Although your performance is super important to get you the role, but your eyes in your head shot is the first tool to kill their minds. Your headshot must be mesmerizing so that the industry won’t forget your face.
The photographer must be able to guide you to arrive at your best headshot.  It’s not about the lighting or how cute you look, the headshot should be YOU.
I remember once a friend of mine took his headshot himself and wished to get auditions. Then his agent told him to put it on Instagram instead. Because it’s not something that anybody with a camera can do. You gotta nail it. Your face matters in the show business and it is a big decision to make when choosing your headshot and how it is crafted by an experienced, competent photographer.
It’s the way you smile, the way you laugh, the way you really look at somebody and its about the person who captures the best representation of YOU.
Its difficult to be an actor. Full of ups and downs and sometimes no ups and only downs but it makes it easier to have a great headshot in your hand on this roller coaster of acting life.
