OCTOBER WEEKEND COURSES

Conducted by filmmakers Iraj Tahmasb and Babak Payami, this advanced acting program will introduce fundamentals of film and theatre acting with practical and theoretical training.  This advanced series will start with an emphasis on “self discovery” and emotional externalization techniques for actors.  The program will then focus on developing techniques for the discovery of “others” and train participants on detecting and utilizing nuances in behaviour, actions, reaction and emotions of “others” as character study subjects.

This forty-hour program will include training in:

– Understanding the body and voice

– Development of emotions, actions and the mechanics of human behaviour

– How a performance is shaped

CLASSES WILL BE HELD SATURDAY/SUNDAY 2PM-7PM STARTING ON OCTOBER 4 AND ENDING ON OCTOBER 26, 2014.

Saturday/Sunday October 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26 (five hour classes, total of 40 hours)

APPLICATION AND ADMISSIONS PROCESS:

Step one: (DEADLINE) September 19, 2014

All applicants must apply for consideration in the courses by submitting the following:

1- A resume that includes their artistic background and qualifications.

2- A brief letter of intent on why the applicant wants to participate in this program.

3- Head Shot or Head Shots.

All material must be submitted in electronic form as standard pdf packages in the application form below.

A $100.00 deposit is required with your application.  This deposit is fully refunded if your application is not accepted.  Should you be granted admission to the course, a payment schedule will be arranged by the course administrator.

Step two:

All applications will be reviewed by program instructors and an in-person audition session will be scheduled for those applicants deemed qualified to participate in the course.  (Auditions will be held between September 22-26, 2014)  * Auditions will not guarantee admission.

Step Three:

Program leaders will then send an official admissions offer to successul applicants.

Courses begin October 4, 2014.

** A certificate of participation signed by the program leaders will be issued to participants who successfully complete the course.

Course fees: CDN$ 1,000.- +hst.
